Phil - President
 Phil started his career in 1984 with David L. Jones as country shipper in the flower department. He later spent a few years in the supply department before he returned to sales in the flower department in 1990. In 1997, Phil moved his family to Edmonton where he was GM for a wholesale for a period of over 9 years. During his time in Edmonton, he was able to recognize his dream and an opportunity presented itself to open Bernard Anderson in Calgary. In 2000, Phil founded Bernard Anderson Wholesale Florist where he could share his vision and passion with the retail florists of southern Alberta. Phil frequently travels to different countries, sourcing new growers, and continues to look for an edge to be a leader in the wholesale floral industry. Phil, his wife Sheri, and their employees are committed to providing their clients with the finest quality of product and outstanding customer service.

Al - Manager
 Al is currently the manager and buyer for Bernard Anderson, and has dedicated himself to that position since 2003. He is not afraid to take chances on trying new product and is always on the look out to better the company. Al started with Bernard Anderson in sales, and as an assistant to the manager when we opened in 2000. He began his career with David L. Jones in 1988 with country sales and became involved with route truck sales to the rural customers north of Calgary. Al has 20 years of wholesale floral experience and is a very valuable asset to our team.

Emily - Sales
 Emily began her floral career in Kindersley, Saskatchewan working in a retail flower shop. She has experience as a flower designer, manager and also owned a flower shop during her years in retail. Emily started in the wholesale floral industry with David L. Jones in 1997 and became part of Bernard Anderson's team when we opened in 2000. Emily is very devoted to her customers and goes the extra mile to ensure that Bernard Anderson provides them with all their needs. She is a very valuable asset and her experience and knowledge of the floral industry is second to none.

Sheri - Controller
Sheri has been with Bernard Anderson since we opened in 2000. She worked remotely from home doing accounts payable and was mentored by Sandy Gilmour until she was able to take over as controller in 2006. Her mother owned a very successful flower shop in Calgary and Sheri began her career in the flower industry at an early age as a floral designer. In 1992 she was inducted into A.I.F.D. and has won several awards in design competitions in southern Alberta. In 1997 she made the transition from retail to wholesale and has become the corner stone to Bernard Anderson.

Lena - Support Staff
 Lena has been with Bernard Anderson since the winter of 2004. She has spent many years in the flower wholesale industry before joining our team. Lena is known by most of our customers as a friendly face and a helpful hand with customer service and support staff to the sales people. Her work ethic and dedication to the company is impeccable with her motto of "get er done" attitude. Lena has become a very valuable asset to Bernard Anderson.

Sandy - Reception
 Sandy is new to our industry and has been with Bernard Anderson since the fall of 2007. Her position with the company is as our receptionist and she has many duties to complete on a daily basis. Sandy has numerous years as office manager and her experience is very much welcomed. We are excited that Sandy has joined our team and are confident that she will have many years with our company.

Jackie - Sales Assistance Jackie began her career with David L Jones in 1989 in the supply department performing various duties such as processing orders, customer service and eventually inventory controller. Her father was the branch manager and she was given many responsibilities and oversaw the supply side of the business.
In 2004 Jackie put her career on hold to start a family of her own. When she returned, she came to work for Bernard Anderson and began to learn the cut flower side of the wholesale trade. She had her second child in 2007 and returned in the spring of 2009. Jackie has been assisting our sales team handling phone calls, order processing and customer service. She has become a very valuable asset and we look forward to having Jackie take care of your flower and supply needs in the future.

Patty - Sales
In 1993, Patty started her floral career in Edmonton in a retail flower shop. After a few years designing flowers, she had the opportunity to join David L Jones and in 1997 she began working in wholesale as a salesperson. Patty quickly became a reliable & knowledgeable employee and she built a loyal cliental base that she sold flowers to. She eventually was offered a management position with another wholesaler and learned the administrative part of the business.
Patty moved to Calgary to join Bernard Anderson’s sales team in the spring of 2011 and she looks forward to looking after all her client’s floral needs. She brings a wealth of knowledge to our industry and we are very excited to have her employed with our company.
Patty is an avid sports fan and enjoys camping and going on long walks. She also has a grandson that is the sparkle of her eye and cherishes her time spent with him.
She has quickly become a valuable asset to Bernard Anderson and we wish her much success in Calgary.

Shahram - Quality Control
Shahram has been in the flower business for over 20 years both abroad and in Canada working in retail and wholesale. He started his career in St Albert, Alberta at a local wedding centre in 1991 and moved on to a large retail flower shop in Edmonton in 1997 and was one of five full time designers. In 2006, Shahram moved to Calgary and joined our company working in our supply department before moving to the United States with his family. He recently rejoined Bernard Anderson in the position of quality control and rehydration preparation of all flowers before they are moved into our coolers. We are extremely pleased that Shahram is back with our company looking after the receiving end of the warehouse applying his expertise to ensure our customers receive the highest caliber of product that we pride ourselves on selling. |
